A Message from THE PRESIDENT of The Middlesex Masonic Sports Association (MMSA)
Right Worshipful Pro Provincial Grand Master-Roger Croome
I take great pride in being nominated as The President of The Middlesex Masonic Sports Association (MMSA) as it has done so much to promote sport both within and outside Freemasonry. In doing so the MMSA has integrated people from all walks of life, no matter what their cultural or religious backgrounds, and encouraged them to meet on equal terms thereby achieving personal goals and notable success. Through its sporting activities the Association continues to raise much needed funds for various charities, one of which is Wheelpower (formerly the British Wheelchair Sports Association (BWSF) which it has sponsored over the last 25 years. This has helped Wheelpower athletes to compete at the last five Paralympic games and in October 2007 a cheque for £12,500 was presented to support those training to take part in the Paralympics at Beijing in 2008. Since then a further £25,000 has been donated to this worthy charity.
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the members of the MMSA, which since its inception has donated over £250,000 to various charities, and am delighted that they continue to enjoy their sporting activities whilst at the same time furthering the Masonic tradition of raising funds for those less fortunate than themselves.
Long may it continue.
